[Comment] Long-term surgical consequences of childhood cancer

Late effects are a potentially life-changing complication of childhood cancer and its treatment. Cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiotherapy at a young age can seriously damage developing organs and body systems.1,2 Patients who survive childhood cancer must live with the long-term consequences of this unintended harm into adulthood and beyond.
